Pil­lars of weath­er­ing and Man­si block­heads. These are moun­tain remains with a height of 30 to 42 meters on the ter­ri­to­ry of the Pechoro-Ily­ch­sky Reserve. It is believed that 200 mil­lion years ago there were high moun­tains in this place, but due to snow, frost and winds, only small pil­lars remained from them. Many leg­ends are asso­ci­at­ed with them. Accord­ing to one of them, the leader of the giant tribe want­ed to mar­ry the daugh­ter of the leader of the Man­si tribe. Hav­ing been refused, the giant attacked the vil­lage. It’s good that the beauty’s broth­er arrived in time: he saved the vil­lage by turn­ing the giants into stones with the help of a mag­ic shield.
