Nat­ur­al mon­u­ment. It owes its name to Cap­tain D.I. Kuznetsov, who com­mand­ed a detach­ment of ships guard­ing the Russ­ian bor­ders in 1857 in the Far East. The cape is locat­ed on the south­west­ern coast of the Cril­lon Penin­su­la. This is a plateau-like sur­face with steep banks. The cape is notable for the fact that here is the only year-round rook­ery of Red Book Steller sea lions and ringed seals on the island. Groups of these sea ani­mals can be seen from afar, they behave quite nois­i­ly, emerg­ing, mak­ing loud exha­la­tions and rais­ing jets of spray, it is always inter­est­ing to watch them frol­ic in the water. At the edge of the cliff of Cape Kuznetsov there is an aban­doned light­house built by the Japan­ese in 1914, which is of his­tor­i­cal val­ue.
