This coastal area fea­tures an extend­ed shore­line, pro­tect­ed dunes, and salt marsh­es. It includes camp­grounds, boat ramps, walk­ing trails, and his­tor­i­cal land­marks. It became a pop­u­lar resort in the 19th cen­tu­ry and was pre­vi­ous­ly used by Native Amer­i­cans for fish­ing and hunt­ing.
