Built in 1681, the cathe­dral has repeat­ed­ly expe­ri­enced earth­quakes and nat­ur­al dis­as­ters. Over the years, the baroque style has been pre­served, but inside the inte­ri­or had to be sup­ple­ment­ed with pine dec­o­ra­tion in order to bet­ter pre­serve the his­tor­i­cal mon­u­ment.
