The pas­sage tow­er of the Moscow Krem­lin over­look­ing Red Square. It was built accord­ing to the design of the archi­tect Pietro Anto­nio Solari. Until the end of the 15th cen­tu­ry, that is, before the cre­ation of Red Square, Nikol­skaya Street began from the Nikol­sky Gate. In 1805–1806, the tow­er was com­plete­ly rebuilt in the Goth­ic style by the archi­tect Lui­gi Rus­ca togeth­er with Alex­ei Bakarev. In 1816–1819, under the lead­er­ship of the archi­tect Osip.
