Projects for the con­struc­tion of pan­el hous­ing began to be devel­oped in the USSR before the war. The pio­neer of this activ­i­ty was the Bere­zovsky Plant of Build­ing Struc­tures (BZSK), where in 1946 the first pan­el house in the coun­try was assem­bled, which still dec­o­rates the fac­to­ry vil­lage (some sources call this house the sec­ond, while the first is hid­den some­where on the ter­ri­to­ry of the plant). It is curi­ous that in its archi­tec­ture the house is more rem­i­nis­cent of a cot­tage and has noth­ing in com­mon with the mul­ti-sto­ry pan­el struc­tures that flood­ed the coun­try 10–15 years after the new con­struc­tion tech­nol­o­gy was “test­ed” in Bere­zovsky.
