Описание:
A narrow and very picturesque gorge, the walls of which rise vertically above the Radovna River by 50–100 m. At the northern end of the gorge is the Shum waterfall, over which there is a pedestrian bridge. You can walk through the gorge along wooden walkways hanging on its walls, which sometimes descend to the water level. There are parking lots on both sides of the gorge, and if you are traveling without a car, you can walk right through the gorge. It is convenient to get there by train, passing through the Bled Lake station: it makes the stops Vintgar and Podhom, from each of which 1.5 km to the entrance to the gorge. As part of the Triglav National Park, the gorge is an official tourist site with seasonally varying opening hours and entrance fees. The gorge is closed in winter; some travelers have been able to get inside for free, although this may be hampered by scheduled maintenance work on the footpath. In summer, on the contrary, the gorge can be a bit crowded.
