A nar­row and very pic­turesque gorge, the walls of which rise ver­ti­cal­ly above the Radov­na Riv­er by 50–100 m. At the north­ern end of the gorge is the Shum water­fall, over which there is a pedes­tri­an bridge. You can walk through the gorge along wood­en walk­ways hang­ing on its walls, which some­times descend to the water lev­el. There are park­ing lots on both sides of the gorge, and if you are trav­el­ing with­out a car, you can walk right through the gorge. It is con­ve­nient to get there by train, pass­ing through the Bled Lake sta­tion: it makes the stops Vint­gar and Pod­hom, from each of which 1.5 km to the entrance to the gorge. As part of the Triglav Nation­al Park, the gorge is an offi­cial tourist site with sea­son­al­ly vary­ing open­ing hours and entrance fees. The gorge is closed in win­ter; some trav­el­ers have been able to get inside for free, although this may be ham­pered by sched­uled main­te­nance work on the foot­path. In sum­mer, on the con­trary, the gorge can be a bit crowd­ed.
