The Qila is one of the old­est and high­est small brick mon­u­ment. It also con­tains two gurud­waras as the tenth Sikh guru Gob­ind Singh vis­it­ed the place. The Fort was built in 1930. It was as the offi­cial res­i­dence of armed forces of Mahara­ja Bhupin­der Singh of Patiala State. Now it has been con­vert­ed into a Four Star Hotel. Oth­er sights in/around the town: Rose Gar­den on four hectares (close to Ther­mal Plant), Zoo­log­i­cal gar­den (10 km away), Chetak Park with a lake, Mazaar of Peer Haji Rat­tan a wor­ship place includ­ing a mosque and a Sikh gurud­wara.- Fur­ther afield: ”’Lakhi Jun­gle”’ (15 km away toward Muk­t­sar). A for­est hav­ing old Gurud­wara enjoyed the touch­es of Shri Guru Nanak Dev.
