The archi­tec­tur­al ensem­ble on the Capi­to­line Hill, one of the sev­en hills on which Rome arose. The square is inter­est­ing with the Cor­do­na­ta stair­case, a repli­ca of the eques­tri­an stat­ue of Emper­or Mar­cus Aure­lius and three mag­nif­i­cent palaces hous­ing the exhi­bi­tions of the Capi­to­line Muse­um.
