At an alti­tude of around 1700 meters lies a small com­mu­ni­ty liv­ing in the harsh con­di­tions of a vol­canic caldera. Grapes are cul­ti­vat­ed here and wine is pro­duced using min­er­al-rich soil. After destruc­tive erup­tions in 1995 and 2014, part of the vil­lage was rebuilt, pre­serv­ing its seclud­ed and pow­er­ful nat­ur­al atmos­phere.
