Its his­to­ry dates back to the time the Ser­bian-Turk­ish war (1876), when under the com­mand of Gen­er­al Mikhail Chernyaye, Russ­ian vol­un­teers arrived in Ser­bian aid. First­ly they erect­ed a tent near the church ded­i­cat­ed to St-. Alek­san­dar Nevsky. The old church was built in 1877, but lat­er had a tur­bu­lent his­to­ry. The church has sig­nif­i­cant relics, fres­coes, and in the inte­ri­or of the plaque, Ser­bian war­riors, the Russ­ian Tsar Nicholas the Sec­ond, and King Alexan­der I Karad­jord­je­vic.
