Kem­be is a tra­di­tion­al African vil­lage with its mud brick huts and thatched roofs. Near­by is the Kot­to Riv­er which cas­cades in two streams to form a spec­tac­u­lar v shaped water­fall. The chil­dren of the vil­lage play in the riv­er, fight­ing against its strong cur­rent whilst the adults here use the riv­er for more prac­ti­cal pur­pos­es such as wash­ing clothes.
