The cap­i­tal of the Old King­dom of Egypt has some extra­or­di­nary funer­ary mon­u­ments, includ­ing rock tombs, ornate mastabas, tem­ples and pyra­mids. In ancient times, the site was con­sid­ered one of the Sev­en Won­ders of the World.
