Sum­mer on the lake is short and windy, with aver­age air tem­per­a­tures no high­er than 6–10 degrees Cel­sius. Win­ter is harsh, with polar nights with icy winds, and tem­per­a­tures down to minus 25–30 degrees. Ice on the lake lasts from mid-Sep­tem­ber to the end of June, and longer in cold years. The banks of the reser­voir are most­ly flat, low-lying, over­grown with lichens and shrubs, and there are areas with open forests. There are hunt­ing huts on the north­ern shore. Hunt­ing on Lake Mogo­to­e­vo is car­ried out for water­fowl, rein­deer, polar wolf and hare.
