Khafre was the son and suc­ces­sor of Khu­fu. His pyra­mid (at 136 m) is slight­ly small­er than the Great Pyra­mid, but it’s set on high­er ground so it looks larg­er. A few blocks of the orig­i­nal lime­stone cladding sur­vive at its tip, once all the pyra­mids were ful­ly encased in this way. Entry to the inte­ri­or is on the north flank.
