The mosque is locat­ed on Naqsh‑e Jahan Square (Imam Square) and is the largest mosque in the city. Actu­al­ly, when we talk about Isfa­han, the first thing that comes to mind is the appear­ance of Naqsh‑e Jahan Square with a large gold­en dome of the Lut­ful­la mosque. This is the clear­est exam­ple of Per­sian archi­tec­ture and the Isfa­han school — an abun­dance of pierc­ing blue mosaics, incred­i­bly com­plex pat­terns on the dome and a play of light that changes the atmos­phere of the inte­ri­or halls of the mosque depend­ing on the time of day.
